Our 30/1 Muga silk is a lace-weight yarn spun from the waste cocoons. It has a rustic look and has slubby texture. Unlike the fine grade Muga Filament silk, which is glossy, shiny, and smooth this yarn is totally the opposite. It has an earthy vibe with matte, subtle golden color. While Muga silk has a natural golden color and does not need any dyeing, it is still quite compatible with most dyes and absorbs dyes easily.
Assam has been well-known for Muga silk production since ancient times. Muga silk is glossy, finely textured, and durable in nature. Muga silk absorbs natural dyes easily.
Muga silk with a fine count like our 30/1 is mainly used as a weft yarn for a perfect textured, rustic handwoven piece.
It is fun to weave with and its natural golden matte color will add a nice touch of elegance to your woven pattern.
It is well known for its extreme durability and has a natural yellow-golden tint. It has a glossy and shimmering texture; it was known to be worn only by the royal families.
