A mother of 6 girls she was introduced to Muezart by Kong Tmung, an expert dyer who works with us. Muezart trained Kong Mumtaz on what was expected of her and she is now an expert at winding Eri Silk embroidery thread evenly on a small bamboo stick. Yes, Muezart can invest in a small machine to wind – but our mission is to create more opportunities for villagers through the heritage cottage industry of Eri silk.
This is what Kong Mumtaz told Miranda, a Muezart team member “since working with Muezart I do not have to depend on my husband for food and shelter to take care of my children. I am even able to buy medicines for my sick mother who lives with me. I feel better as a mother and a daughter”

One of her girls told me that she's happy to see her mom making the embroidery bamboo spools for Muezart. It's something new and exciting that she finds her mom does. Nothing dramatic or heroic in what Mumtaz does, but just the act of being a loving mother and doing her best for her children calls for a celebration.
We dedicate this Mothers’ Day post to mothers like Kong Mumtaz, her mother and the many mothers reading this post! Take care. Hope you find joy when you work with our Eri silk fibres, Eri silk embroidery threads and knitting yarns.
