Meghalaya is the land of Eri silk cocoons.
The tradition of using silk fibers for spinning and weaving is slowly fading in our region of Northeast India. That is why we want more makers to use more of Eri silk fibers for spinning, like the Erino Top.
Our Erino Silk Top is made from the long silk fibre of the A grade silk cocoon and the wonderful and softest Merino from Spain.
Erino silk fibre takes 30% of Eri silk and 70% of Merino wool to make our silk tops a blend of classic and elegant fibre, which has an incredibly smooth texture of merino and the subtle glow of raw silk which adds to the properties of silk fibres.
The 100% natural colour of this soft Eri silk top is the fiber that artisans are looking for. The protein silk fibres for spinning are fantastic for dying with plant-based dyes. Spinners love getting their hands on this longer ready to spin Eri silk fibre.
