Our 30/1 Muga silk is a lace-weight yarn spun from the waste cocoons. It has a rustic look and has slubby texture. Unlike the fine grade Muga Filament silk, which is glossy, shiny, and smooth this yarn is totally the opposite. It has an earthy vibe with matte, subtle golden color. While Muga silk has a natural golden color and does not need any dyeing, it is still quite compatible with most dyes and absorbs dyes easily.
What can you make with it?
Muga silk with a fine count like our 30/1 is mainly used as a weft yarn for a perfect textured, rustic handwoven piece.
What’s it like to work with?
It is fun to weave with and its natural golden matte color will add a nice touch of elegance to your woven pattern.
